How to Pay with Bitcoin

Follow these steps exactly and you'll be done in a few minutes. We recommend Coinbase because it accepts credit card, debit card, or PayPal directly — no bank e-transfer step required.

Go to coinbase.com/signup or download the Coinbase app (App Store / Google Play). You need a new account, so choose one sign-up option: Continue with Google, Continue with Apple, or enter your email to sign up that way instead — any of the three works, pick whichever is fastest for you. If you signed up with email: enter the verification code Coinbase emails you, create a password, then enter your first and last name exactly as they appear on your government-issued ID. Coinbase will also ask for a phone number to send a one-time SMS code — this confirms it's really you.
Verify your identity: Coinbase will ask for a photo of your government ID and a selfie. This is Coinbase's requirement, not ours — it's how they're regulated as an exchange — and approval is usually instant to a few minutes, occasionally longer. Good lighting and no sunglasses/hat speeds this up. (Coinbase's ID verification guide.)
Add a payment method: tap Add payment method and choose your debit/credit card, or PayPal. (If using PayPal, log in with the same email as your Coinbase account to skip an extra verification step.)
On your Peps payment page, note the exact BTC amount shown. In Coinbase, tap Buy, choose Bitcoin (BTC), and enter that amount plus a few dollars extra (to cover the network fee — see the note below), then confirm the purchase.
Now send it to us: in Coinbase, tap Pay (or Send/Receive → Send) and choose Bitcoin. Scan the QR code on your Peps payment page, or paste the address exactly if scanning isn't available.
If asked to choose a network, select plain Bitcoin — not Lightning. We only watch the regular Bitcoin network, so a Lightning send won't reach us.
Enter the exact BTC amount shown on the Peps payment page (not the extra you bought), double-check the address matches, then tap Send, confirm, and complete 2-step verification if prompted. That's it — no wallet app needed. (Coinbase's send-crypto guide.)

Coinbase doesn't add its own fee to send Bitcoin — but the Bitcoin network's own fee is deducted from your balance on top of what you send, so it doesn't reduce what we receive. That's why step 5 says to buy a few dollars more than your order total; always send the exact amount shown on the payment page, never amount-minus-fee.

Prefer a different exchange? (Shakepay, Newton, Kraken)

These work too, but mostly rely on Interac e-transfer or bank transfer rather than card/PayPal, so buying takes an extra day in some cases. The steps are the same idea: sign up, verify your identity, buy Bitcoin, then use their Send/Withdraw feature to send the exact amount to the address on your Peps payment page.

Want to keep using Bitcoin later? (optional)

If you'd rather hold your own bitcoin going forward instead of leaving it on an exchange, you can install a wallet app like BlueWallet (iOS/Android, free — no signup, no email, no ID) and send funds there instead of to us directly. This is entirely optional and only relevant for future purchases or general Bitcoin use — it adds a step and isn't needed just to pay for this order.

I already have Bitcoin on an exchange

You can send directly from the exchange — no separate wallet needed.

On your Peps payment page, note the address and amount shown (or have the QR code ready if your exchange app can scan to withdraw).
In your exchange, choose Send or Withdraw Bitcoin.
Paste our address exactly, and enter the exact amount shown — then confirm.

Exchanges charge their own withdrawal fee, taken from your balance on top of what you send — it doesn't reduce what we receive. If your balance is close to your order total, top up by a few dollars first so the fee doesn't leave you short.

I already have a Bitcoin wallet app

This is the fastest path — most people are done in under a minute.

On your Peps payment page, tap Open in wallet app — this opens your wallet with our address and the exact amount already filled in.
If that doesn't work on your device, scan the QR code instead, or copy the address and amount using the copy buttons and paste them into your wallet's send screen manually.
Review the address and amount in your wallet — they should exactly match what's shown on our payment page — then confirm the send.

What happens after you send

Our payment page updates on its own — you don't need to refresh or do anything else. Here's the timeline:

Almost immediately — the page shows "Payment spotted!" once your transaction reaches the Bitcoin network.
Usually within 10–30 minutes — the transaction gets its first network confirmation, which is what actually marks your order Paid.

You can safely close the tab at any point after sending — your order is already reserved, and payment detection runs on our end regardless. Come back anytime with Track Order using your order ID and the email you checked out with.

Common questions

Do you ever ask for my seed phrase or private key?

Never, under any circumstances. Your seed phrase is what controls your wallet's funds — no legitimate reason exists for a merchant to ever ask for it. If anyone claiming to be us asks for it, it isn't us.

I sent the wrong amount — what now?

Email us at mypeps@tutamail.com with your order ID. Underpayments aren't settled automatically — we'll sort it out with you directly. Bitcoin transactions can't be reversed or canceled once sent, so there's no way for either of us to "undo" it — only to work out the difference from there.

My payment is taking a long time to confirm

Confirmation times depend on overall Bitcoin network traffic and aren't something either of us controls directly — occasional delays of an hour or more happen during busy periods. If it's been several hours with no change, email us with your order ID and we'll take a look.

Is it safe to pay this way?

Bitcoin payments are irreversible, so the one thing worth double-checking is that the address and amount your wallet shows before you confirm match exactly what's on our payment page. Beyond that, using the Open in wallet app button or scanning the QR code avoids any manual typing entirely, which is the safest way to pay.
