Peptide Reconstitution Guide
Reconstitution Math
Reconstitution means dissolving milligrams (mg) of peptide into a solvent volume, then matching the resulting concentration to the markings on a standard U-100 insulin syringe (1 mL = 100 units).
Formulas
Example Calculation
To reconstitute a 5 mg vial using 2 mL of bacteriostatic water for a target dose of 0.25 mg:
-
Find Concentration:
5 mg ÷ 2 mL = 2.5 mg/mL
-
Determine Volume:
0.25 mg ÷ 2.5 mg/mL = 0.10 mL
-
Convert to Syringe Units:
0.10 mL × 100 = 10 units

Peptide Reconstitution Instructions
Demonstrates proper technique for handling lyophilized powder: sanitizing rubber stoppers with alcohol wipes, equalizing air pressure in the bacteriostatic water vial, slowly directing solvent down the inside glass wall (avoiding direct impact on the powder), and gently rolling the vial to dissolve without shaking.
